Fossil holds new insights into how fish advanced onto land

The fossil of an early snake-like animal — referred to as Lethiscus stocki — has stored its evolutionary secrets and techniques for the final 340-million years. Now, a world group of researchers has revealed new insights into the traditional Scottish fossil that dramatically problem our understanding of the early evolution of tetrapods, or 4-limbed animals with backbones.
